Nurse Practitioner Amy McGinn is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. In 2013, she graduated with honors from the University of Maryland School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She began work as a Registered Nurse on the Cardiac Surgery Progressive Care Unit at the University of Maryland Medical Center. There, she was inspired to care for patients throughout their lifespan, not just during their short hospital stay. In 2019, she graduated from the University of Maryland with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Amy is a Calvert County native and is thrilled to care for her community through Dunkirk Family Practice. She believes that the best healthcare happens when a provider and patient work together to achieve optimal health and minimize chronic illnesses. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages. Amy's operating principle since becoming a nurse is "treat your patients the way you would like to be treated". In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. They love to go to the beach, travel to Vermont, and enjoy time with friends.
